About GCP Weekly

Hi, I'm Zdenko, a Google Cloud Platform consultant based in Prague, Czech Republic, and the founder and sole editor of GCP Weekly.

I started publishing this newsletter because there were (and still are) a great many things happening around Google Cloud Platform, and it was — and often still is — hard to keep up with everything. At the time there was also no single reliable digest: the official Google Cloud blog was excellent, but enormous volumes of useful articles, tutorials, case studies and releases were scattered across countless other blogs, forums and vendor channels. Because there was no good weekly summary, I decided to create one, and I have been publishing a new issue every single Monday since October 2016 covering what happened over the prior week.

Originally the online version was hosted on my personal web log, The Swamp, but in May 2018 I transferred the full archive and content to this website, where it remains today.

For several years I have been running consulting practice focused primarily on Google Cloud Platform, which I use for most of my projects — covering Kubernetes, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, Machine Learning and related services. What GCP Weekly covers

Each weekly issue is a hand-curated selection of the most relevant Google Cloud Platform material published over the past seven days: official product announcements and release notes, in-depth technical tutorials, real-world case studies, conference talks, open-source updates, jobs, and opinion pieces. Rather than repost full articles, GCP Weekly collects and links to the best resources across the Google Cloud ecosystem so that engineers, architects and leaders can scan the week's developments in a few minutes and dive deeper only where it matters.

GCP Weekly is an independent, community-driven publication and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. It exists because practitioners like you kept sending good finds — thank you.
